Pleasant Peds Care of Conyers (PPC), located on 1415 Milstead Road Suite C, opened on February 24, 2014. The Managing Partner, Dr. Shyronda Y. Pleasant, is not new to Conyers or the Metropolitan Atlanta area. She is a native Georgian that has provided General Pediatric and Pediatric Urgent care in Dalton, Conyers, Covington, Decatur, Newton and Snellville. Her educational journey began at Smoke Rise Elementary and included matriculation from Frederick Douglass High School to Clark Atlanta University. Her pursuit of higher learning continued in Omaha, Nebraska where she completed her Medical Doctorate degree, internship and residency at Creighton University. Dr. Pleasant has a keen intellect and is committed to medicine; however, her compelling traits are her effervescent personality, her constant pursuit for excellence and her unstoppable drive to nurture and care for the future leaders of tomorrow.

Her humble spirit and compassionate nature has helped her to become entrenched in the Rockdale and DeKalb county communities. She attributes her success to the individuals and organizations that have provided their constant support and encouragement. She would be remise if she did not recognize the late Dr. Martin Michaels of Peds Care of Dalton, GA who gave her an opportunity to work and serve an underserved community as a National Health Service Corp Scholar. She, also, appreciates Conyers Pediatrics for allowing her to practice and become a well- respected and loved physician in her home community. Lastly, her gratitude and appreciation extends to Decatur Pediatric Group, the practice that relocated her to Decatur, GA–her birth place and gave her the opportunity to become a Medical Director.

The journey to opening day has not been as easy as clicking her heels together and saying there is no place like home. However, she can say that the journey has been insightful, challenging and exciting. Her dreams culminated on Monday, February 24, 2014 when Pleasant Peds Care of Conyers officially opened their doors to welcome and nurture the next generation of leaders. Dr. Pleasant’s vision for Pleasant Peds Care of Conyers is to become your family’s Pediatric Medical Home of Choice.

This medical home provides: a) consistent continuity of care by employing veteran pediatric health professionals with long-term commitments, b) enhanced coordination of medical care by teaming with primary and specialty pediatric physicians to aggressively address our children’s problems and needs; c) and expanded timely access to our children’s health information, by embracing and leveraging the use of the Electronic Medical Record.
