It’s finally here, Spring–probably my favorite time of the year. The air is crisp, flowers start to bloom, people are out and about, and everyone’s step is just a little lighter. So pack up the coats, boots, gloves, and hats and get ready for the season that’s perfect for renewal and new beginnings. Whether it’s hanging out on a Saturday afternoon at a great patio bar or finding that perfect Easter outfit, spring is in the air and no better time than the present to be fashionably chic.
The top 2015 Spring trends for fashion, hair, and nails are easy this year. You probably have most of the fashion trends in your closet already. The hair and nails are simple, easy, and pretty low maintenance. As I watched the New York City Mercedes Benz Fashion Week show, here’s what I went away with as my favorite things.
Fashion
The dress shirts, culottes are trending, as well as shirts and dresses with one shoulder cuts–apparently our shoulders are the new sexy (I kind of agree). The colors are easy, yellow (make sure it’s a yellow with your correct skin undertones), black and white, blue and white, military greens, and gingham (tiny checks). Also a big trend is white–head to toe–white. I’ve saved the best for last….FLATS, whether it’s a sandal, sneaker, or ballet, it’s comforting to know comfy shoes are here to stay…halleluiah!
Hair
The big trend is coming-undone styles. Which include braids that are messy and loose, half up/down styles, but still messy and loose. Hair that is air-dried and a little texturized is huge. You know that look, when we’re at the beach and our hair looks great from the salt air and wind. So give your hair a break this spring and forgo the hair dryer. Ask your hairdresser for a great product for texturizing and go natural. Braid your hair wet and let it dry, then let it go….remember doing this way back when.
Nails
It looks like we are going back to the natural look. From the palest pinks to the very chic nudes. If you want to be a little more daring try a graphic polish design that lets the bare nail show with a side stripe of glitter or metallic on each nail. Or a bare nail with just the half-moon painted with any bright or dark color.
Just remember be yourself, be comfortable, and be confident. Because isn’t that the real “sexy”!
