RCPS Kindercamp July 18-20

Making the jump to Kindergarten can be a big transition for little ones. Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) Kindercamp helps rising Kindergarten students become familiar with the routines, places and people they’ll see for the 2016-17 school year.

RCPS Kindercamp will be held July 18-20, 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at all RCPS elementary schools.

Kindercamp gives rising Kindergarteners a chance to ride the bus, meet teachers and staff members, and become familiar with the classrooms, hallways and routines they will have in school.

Open House Schedule 2016

Rockdale County Public Schools will host Open House Nights at schools July 21 to July 26 as families, students, and staff gear up for the 2016-17 school year, which starts July 28.

Open Houses are important for families to attend. The 2016-17 RCPS Open House schedule is as follows:

Thursday, July 21, 2016

• 9th grade only at Salem, Rockdale and Heritage high schools (5 p.m. – 7 p.m.)

Friday, July 22, 2016

• All elementary schools (5 p.m. – 7 p.m.)

Monday, July 25, 2016

• All middle schools (5 p.m. – 7 p.m.)

Tuesday, July 26, 2016

• Early Learning Center at Rockdale Career Academy (9 a.m. – noon)
• All high schools grades 10-12 (5 p.m. – 7 p.m.)
• Alpha Academy (5 p.m. – 7 p.m.)
• Open Campus (5 p.m. – 7 p.m.)
• Rockdale Career Academy (5 p.m. – 8 p.m.)

We strongly encourage families to attend. You will receive valuable information at Open House and this is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teachers, see their classroom and ask questions to school staff. Help your child get this school year off to a strong start by attending Open House.

Student Registration Temporary Location

In order to accommodate increased volume, the Rockdale County Public Schools Student Registration Office will be located at 1400 Parker Road July 25-August 5, 2016.

The Student Registration Office will close at 1143 West Avenue at noon on Friday, July 22. The office will re-open at 1400 Parker Road on Monday, July 25, and will be open 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., Monday- Friday.

On Friday, August 5, the office will close at noon. The office will re-open at 1143 West Avenue on August 8 and will be back to regular hours, Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. (families must arrive by 3:30 p.m. to be processed that day).
