Young Americans Christian School (YACS) eighth graders placed first in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) solar powered car race hosted by Snapping Shoals EMC. YACS also had the top three fastest cars in the event competing against 15 other teams. The 2016 Snapping Shoals EMC Junior Solar Sprint Race was held on May 4th at the Snapping Shoals EMC Headquarters in Covington. Students had to build their best solar car and race to compete against area public and private schools.
