Local artist, Ann Wildmon did her research before opening her new gallery in the heart of Covington Square. The Wild Art Gallery will feature regional artists including oil painter Ann Wildmon, Moon Drift Pens owner Greg Deemer, woodworker Troy Bledsoe, photographer Jordan Wright, jewelry maker Carla Culpepper, artists Gitte Ravn-Sorenson and Carol Veliotis, and musician Bo Bice.
“I want to create a different kind of gallery where we feature artists of all types. From traditional painters, to beautiful woodworking, to photography, to musicians like Bo Bice. Wild Art is a place where people can enjoy beautiful art in different forms,” says Wildmon.
The gallery is located in the newly renovated building on the corner of Monticello St. and Washington across from Scoops. The gallery was staged as a doctor’s office for the popular TV show “Vampire Diaries” and they’ll be keeping the sign Grayson Gilbert, M.D. on the window for Vampire Diaries tourists. The inside of the new gallery is contemporary with concrete floors and exposed brick with wrap around windows to bring in light.
The gallery will hold their grand opening on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 6pm during the lighting of the square.
“My partner, Greg Deemer and I are so excited to open our new art gallery this Thursday during the lighting at the square. We want a gallery where people want to come and hang out. It’s a beautiful space and we’re excited to showcase these great artists,” says Wildmon.
The Wild Art Gallery is an art gallery located at 1105 Washington St. in Covington Square across from Scoops featuring regional artists.
