Sims Elementary School’s scholars demonstrated their dedication to leadership and service with the establishment of the first ever Beta Club at Sims, a nation-wide program that develops student leadership skills, service involvement and character. SES students were inducted in a ceremony held Dec. 14 and celebrated with a cake made of cupcakes. Founders and teachers Wendy Davis and Shalaiwah Neil said they started the club “to encourage our high achieving scholars to become leaders and servants in our community.” Students inducted include: Alyssa Garnett, Amber Edwards, Isabella Cooper, Logan Carr, Courtney Bowman, Geanna Anderson, Jasmine Shy, Joshua Pratt, Isley Nixon, Madison Knight, Keni Jackson, Asia Holley, Jennifer Hernandez.
