Newly elected Senator JaNice Van Ness represents District 43, which covers parts of Newton, Rockdale, and DeKalb. She met Mrs. Iris Downs’ class from Hightower Elementary at the Capitol while her 3rd grade class toured and learned about the legislative process.
Community members are invited to call Senator Van Ness or her assistant, Kathleen Cominiski for additional information for groups. Additionally, formal tours are available by scheduling them with the Senate office at 404-463-2598. The legislative session began on Monday, January 11, 2016, and will continue into late March.
