Conyers, GA – Rockdale Medical Center recently announced that Jennifer Phillips, MSW (Medical Social Worker) has been recognized as the hospital’s 2015 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of LifePoint Health’s more than 60 hospitals, including Rockdale Medical Center, who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.

The Mercy Award program is an annual recognition that was established in 2002 to honor the life of Scott Mercy, LifePoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer (CEO).  The Mercy Award is considered the highest honor a LifePoint employee can receive.

She goes above and beyond each and every day to ensure that every person she encounters is treated with the highest level of care and compassion. Jennifer received nominations from numerous individuals, but each referenced her “spirit of giving”, “volunteer spirit”, “compassionate”, and “true desire to help others”. Beyond the responsibilities of her role, Jennifer works with local organizations to assist patients with affordable medications, medical equipment, housing, food, and transportation. As one individual noted, “Jennifer truly addresses the whole health of our patients.”

Each hospital winner, including Jennifer, will be considered for LifePoint’s 2015 company-wide Mercy Award. The company-wide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tenn., in August, to which Rockdale Medical Center and all hospital winners are invited to attend.
