Rockdale County Sheriff Eric Levett is scheduled to be part of an anti-bullying summit this upcoming weekend. The National Anti-Bullying Alliance and the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office are hosting an Anti-Bullying Awareness and Prevention Summit on Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 10 AM until 12 PM. The event will be held at the J.P. Carr Community Center located at 981 Taylor Street in Conyers. The summit will bring the community together to discuss the issue of bullying in an effort to educate the public and to ultimately combat the problem. The summit is also designed to inform parents how to recognize different types of bullying behavior and how to best handle incidents of bullying.
The National Anti-Bullying Alliance and the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office goal is to reach out to the community in an effort to empower parents and youth to combat the problem and come together with the understanding that no bullying should be tolerated. Guest speakers at the summit will be Rockdale County Sheriff Eric Levett and Rockdale County State Court Judge Nancy Bills. The speakers will provide guidance on handling incidents of bullying and be able to answer questions from the audience. The summit is open to youth and adults.
