The Rockdale County Farmers Market officially kicks off the 2015 season this Saturday morning June 6th at the Rockdale County Government Annex at 1400 Parker Road.
The market has added a new day this year. The market schedule for 2015 will be Saturday mornings from 8am to 12pm, Tuesday mornings from 8am to 12pm and Thursday evenings from 4pm to 7pm. With morning and evening markets throughout the week, there should be a time good for everyone to get by the market and purchase fresh veggies!
The most important thing about the market is that everything is home grown or homemade.
With 23 approved vendors there is sure to something you would love! Items that should be available at the market this Saturday: green beans, corn, potatoes, okra, squash, cantaloupe, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, butter beans, peas, onion, cabbage, kale, turnip greens, peaches, blueberries, watermelons, zucchini, beets, figs, black berries, eggplant, jewelry, jellies, jams, lye soap, cupcakes, quick breads, fruit pies, soaps, lotions, bath bubbles, scrubs, soy candles, bath salt, fresh eggs, baby chicks, crocheted items, plants, dog, cat & horse treats.
Several vendors take EBT and SNAP.
