The Newton County Solid Waste Authority voted at its August 18th meeting to change the hours of operation at the County’s convenience centers beginning October 1st.
The change will allow for a later opening and closing time for citizens who use the convenience centers during the week.
All of the convenience centers, including those located at Piper Road/Highway 36, Bypass/Flat Shoals, Stewart Volunteer Fire Department, Stone Road, Cook Road, Dial Mill Road, Highway 212/Highway 162, McGiboney Road, Oak Hill Road, Adams Circle and Hazelbrand Road, will operate on the new schedule. Beginning, October 1st, the new hours of operation will be as follows:
Sunday: Closed
Monday: Closed
Tuesday – Friday: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturday: 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Written notice of the change in hours of operation will be published in the County’s legal organ; posted at the relevant collection centers and provided in writing to Junior Hilliard General Services, the existing contractor that services the convenience centers.
