Theresa Hamm-Smith will be Keynote Speaker and musical guest

Come celebrate Mother’s Day with Family Promise of NewRock on May 13, 2024. They are hosting a Mother’s Day Brunch fundraiser. The brunch will be held at Epiphany Lutheran Church, located at 2375 Georgia 20, SE in Conyers from 11am to 2pm. The Mother’s Day event will include entertainment, an amazing brunch, and raffle items that include a 50/50 drawing.

The Keynote Speaker and musical guest is local artist and business owner Theresa Hamm-Smith. Theresa is a Conyers native and Heritage High school graduate with strong roots in the community. Theresa has a decorated career and impressive string of vocal competition wins spanning throughout the world.

Her first professional job was with Houston Grand Opera’s touring production of Porgy and Bess. Theresa has also had the opportunity to be a debut soprano soloist in Verdi’s Requiem at Carnegie Hall and at the Knoxville Symphony. From working Off-Broadway, singing backup for New Kids on the Block, and performing on the world’s most prestigious concert and opera stages, Theresa has been blessed to fulfill her love of singing in her diverse career.
Although today her cherished roles are wife and mother, she owns Bella Musica in Olde Town Conyers. Bella Musica’s mission is to provide a stimulating and creative environment where students can develop their talents and find a deeper appreciation for all styles of music. Their supportive and nurturing environment encourages confidence and joy for making music.

Mrs. Georgia 2024, Melanie Caceres, will also be a guest speaker during the brunch. Melanie has built her life around service. Starting with 12 years of active and reserve duty in the Air Force, she then taught at-risk teens for 8 years as a high school Spanish teacher in Gwinnett county.

Now she is using her skills and resources in the construction industry to build two houses and renovate two shelters for homeless families across the state of Georgia. She feels she has been called for the purpose of serving and protecting children and families. Melanie Caceres is dedicated to using her talents and energy to promote and support Family Promise, and to work hard to make sure that all of our children have a home.
