Each year all Master Gardener Extension Volunteers are required to perform 25 hours of volunteer service to their community. In 2013 the Rockdale County Master Gardener Extension Volunteers logged 2,714.29 hours to help the community. They travelled 9,435.1 miles to provide these services.
Included in the activities were the Memorial Arboretum at the Georgia International Horse Park, the Vaughn Botanical Garden in Olde Town Conyers, Lighthouse Village, Nancy Guinn Library, Plant a Row for the hungry which produces fresh produce for the Food Bank, plant clinic at the Cherry Blossom Festival, Agricultural Day at the Extension Office, assisting with 4-H Projects such as the Insectival, Clinic at the Olde Town Festival, answering phones at the Extension Office to respond to community questions about gardening and other problems, helping schools and other organizations with landscaping and gardening issues and speaking to organizations as requested concerning various horticulturist issues.
In order to honor the MGEVs who had provided more than 100 hours of volunteering, the Rockdale County Master Gardener Extension Volunteer Association established the 100 Club.
