Covington, GA – Youth from the Heritage High School chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) recently participated in a weekend leadership conference held September 17-18, 2015 at the FFA-FCCLA Center in Covington, Georgia. Over 1,200 students and advisers from 160 schools across Georgia participated in leadership workshops, planned the chapter’s program of work and participated in competitions. Student were motivated by the conference theme “Together We Are…Building Leaders”. Along with other advisers and members from across the state, Heritage High School’s FCCLA chapter adviser, Ms. Jessica Wammock, accompanied nine members to the meeting. One of our members, Jade Timothy, stated “The Fall Leadership Conference allowed us to meet new people and have fun working together. We learned more information about FCCLA and went to useful & informative workshops. Overall, very fun trip!”
The students in attendance from Heritage included Julian Buffaloe, Jurnie Hambrick, Niara Johnson, Teyona Roberts, Taylor Le, Arlexis Orso, Chelsea Timothy, Jade Timothy, and KeAhnna Johnson. KeAhnna helped lead the meeting, as she serves as the State Secretary/Treasurer.
