Covington, GA – Kelly Products, a leading provider of essential information and automation solutions to the agribusiness industry, hosted a farm day at Rock House Farm in Leesburg, GA with Jay’s Hope, a Macon-based nonprofit organization supporting children with cancer.  Children and families spent the day playing carnival games, shooting BB guns, archery, riding horses and fishing. There was a magic show performed by Atlanta magician Tommy Johns.

“This is such a wonderful event for our families. It has become so popular, in fact, that it is rivaled only by our annual Christmas party where the kids get to see Santa Claus,” said Cindy Gaskins, founder of Jay’s Hope.

What started out as a small event five years ago has become one of the larger annual events for Jay’s Hope. There were more than 150 people including families and volunteers in attendance.  Keith Kelly, Kelly Products’ president, CEO, and owner of Rock House Farm, has been overwhelmed by the support of the local business community.  “Farm Day means so much to our company as we have heart for children’s health, and to see such a show of support from other local businesses is humbling. We are proud to be part of such a generous community,” said Kelly.

Several businesses donated in-kind support of the event this year. Covington’s Ginn Chevrolet donated several passenger vans to transport the families from Macon to Leesburg. Rutledge resident Mary Loyd Moss, owner of Sweet Afternoons, and Stephanie Arrington of Leesburg, donated all the desserts for the day. Southwest Georgia Farm Credit donated the bows and arrows for the archery games.

“We are honored and humbled to play a small role in the success of Farm Day,” said Brian Wilson, Senior Relationship Manager at Southwest Georgia Farm Credit’s Americus Office. “Farm Day was great because it offered families an opportunity to be outdoors in the fresh air, with all kinds of terrific activities like fishing and horseback riding. But mostly, it was about providing hope for families who are under a good deal of stress. The kids were smiling from ear to ear. We can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday, or a better cause to support. We feel blessed to be a part of this event and were able to witness the true definition of strength and courage. ”

Pictures of the event are available here. For more information, contact Laura Rotroff at [email protected] or 770-788-4530.

About Jay’s Hope

The Jay’s HOPE Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life of children battling cancer in Georgia and their families through social, emotional, spiritual, educational, and financial support.  The organization was formed by Jason and Cindy Gaskins, in the midst of their son Jay’s battle with a malignant brain tumor. During Jay’s treatment they met numerous families that did not have the financial means to keep their homes or their cars while medical bills mounted. Moms cried because they didn’t have enough gas money to travel home for the weekend. It was clear to Jay’s family that they were being called to give to others….to spread HOPE.
