Newton County, one of the fastest growing communities, is proud to announce a ground breaking ceremony to celebrate the installation of a traffic signal light at the intersection of State Route 81 and Crowell Road. In addition to the traffic signal, turn lanes will be installed to improve traffic flow.

Newton County and The City of Porterdale are contributors to this project. The total cost is $1.8 million and is funded by 2005 SPLOST.

The work on this project will begin this month and is expected to be complete by the end of 2015.
