Georgia governor Nathan Deal today declared Saturday, 2 May as “Disabled Adults and Children Day,” recognizing the challenges faced by the 1.2 million Georgia residents with some form of disability and the organizations, like Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC), whose missions are to support these individuals in their struggle to engage with the community and lead meaningful lives.
On Saturday, FODAC will hold its annual Run Walk ‘n Roll fundraiser at Stone Mountain Park. All proceeds will support FODAC’s mission of providing equipment and services at little to no cost for the disabled community. This event will raise awareness and increase support for individuals, families and caregivers who have been affected by a mobility impairment, either temporary or permanent,
Aimee Copeland will be a special guest at Run Walk ‘n Roll, greeting attendees and presenting awards.
