The Piedmont Academy FFA and Y-Club chose to participate in Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan’s Purse. The students encouraged everyone in the school to bring in items to fill shoeboxes that will be sent around the world. Along with the shoebox filled with goodies and necessary items, the Gospel of Jesus Christ will also be placed in the boxes. The high school FFA and Y-Club members were able to fill 20 boxes for children. The FFA officers then took the boxes to the 4th and 5th grades class for their chapel program. The FFA officers led chapel by teaching about the importance of the boxes, showing a video from Si Robertson about the boxes, and also led a time of prayer. The boxes were placed in piles in the gym and the 4th and 5th grade students rotated to each assorted box to pray over the gift. The project was truly a school event which kicked off the giving spirit of the Christmas season.
