Aspiring young golfers can learn the basic skills of the game of golf by attending the Cherokee Run Golf Club Junior Golf Academy, June 19-22. The golf academy is from 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. daily during the week of June 19 and is designed for golfers ages six to 12 years of age.
Instruction during the academy includes: putting and chipping, fundamentals of golf practice range, a turf care tour, full swing, practice range, scramble tournament and awards on the last day of camp. Lunch is included each day. The cost to participate is only $125 per child. “Summer is the perfect time while kids are out of school to focus on learning a new skill or sport and the Junior Golf Academy is the perfect opportunity to hone those skills,” said Cherokee Run Golf Professional Andy Bowman. “We look forward to teaching the game of golf to a new generation and hopefully instill a love for the game in them.”
