Local business networking groups promoted by the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce provide a way to give back to the community it serves by collecting contributions from its member businesses. This particular group headed by Deon Cannon of RE/MAX PURE and James Barthelemy of Precision Locksmith, made contributions to Project Renewal, Rockdale Cares, Rockdale Emergency Relief, and Family Promise.
These local non-profit organizations help families, individuals, and children in need in Rockdale and surrounding counties in 2015.
“These contributions are a tremendous help to people in our community and our group is proud to be able to give back. These contributions are from everyone in our group. We all get involved,” says Bob Brayton, the group’s treasurer.
Each non-profit organization had time to talk about their accomplishments from the last year as well as inform the group of their immediate needs. Vicki Stevenson of Project Renewal, a Domestic Violence Intervention Program that helps Rockdale, Newton and Walton counties, says, “We have helped over 25,000 families in crisis and we have been blessed by the support of the community.”
Katie Beam from Wall Street Conyers says, “It breaks your heart to meet families who are in need of help. It’s important to me to give back to such a wonderful community that has supported me in the past.”
