4th District Republicans Holds Convention, Elects Rockdale and Newton Residents

Republicans held District conventions across the state of Georgia on Saturday, April 22, 2025,  to elect leadership for the next two years, and to adopt proposed rules changes and resolutions. Delegates to the District convention were selected and voted on by their county through the precinct mass meetings and county conventions that were recently held. The 4th District, which includes portions of Newton, DeKalb and Gwinnett counties, and all of Rockdale County, met in Snellville on Saturday.

Officers elected to the 4th Congressional GOP District Board are:

Rachel Little – Chairman- Gwinnett County

Michael P. Howington – First Vice Chairman- Rockdale County

Bill Reynolds – Second Vice Chairman- Gwinnett County

Aaron Brooks – Third Vice Chairman- Newton County

Secretary- Eleanor Toppins – Rockdale County

Assistant Secretary – Leesha Jay – Newton County

Treasurer – Mike Bryan- Dekalb County

Assistant Treasure r- Brittany Marmol- Gwinnett County

State Committee members elected:

Johnny McDonald – Rockdale County

Aaron Brooks – Newton County

Gloria Tow – Gwinnett County

Sara Snyder – Gwinnett County

Rachel Little – Gwinnett County

Bill Reynolds – Gwinnett County

State Committee members represent each district and approve appointments, rule changes, and other business on behalf of the state party.

Michael P. Howington of Rockdale County GOP said, “Although our numbers may be small in terms of county size, I am humbled to have been selected as the first vice chair for our district and to have Rockdale residents also on the board and state committee. The voice of Rockdale is no less important than our other larger counties’ voice. I am excited to represent Rockdale County and the 4th District Republicans.”

The District delegates adopted three resolutions at the convention including opposition to the National Popular Act, Opposition to Congressman Johnson’s bill to move federal election devices under the control of Homeland Security, and opposition to state legislation to mandate constitutional offices across the state to be non-partisan. The 4th District Republicans believe county delegations will decide if local races should be partisan or nonpartisan, and not the state. Republicans typically believe in local and individual control.

“I am excited at the trust our fellow republicans have put forth in re-electing me as the District Chairman. I look forward to working closely with our newly elected board and our county chairman as we move forward, together. We have every county represented on our board for this term and have an inclusive approach to serve our counties and represent Republican voters across the district,” said Rachel Little.

The Republicans representing the 4th district at the convention were excited and unified as each officer was elected unanimously, each resolution was passed unanimously, and the motion about rule changes was also passed unanimously. The Georgia Republican Party will have one more convention in June to elect new state officers, proposed resolutions, and rules changes at the state level.
