Modeled after the Coal town of Oak Creek, Colorado it has great amount of Detail and Animation in its rolling stock and buildings. The first Railway Corporation Formed in the United staes was the Granite City Railway incorporated in Massachusetts March 4 1826 built to haul Granite from the quarry to build the Bunker Hill Monument in Boston Ma. Amtrak has started to replace three bridges on the High Speed Shore Line in Ct. The first one being renewed is at Thames River in Ct. and will be a Vertical Lift bridge replacing a one year old draw bridge at the site The first success diesel-electric locomotive in the United states was built by Alco in 1923 with an Ingersoll-Rand engine and Generl Electric controls and was sold to the New Jersey Central R.R. on October 22,1925 It was July 3, 1869 that the Cog Railway was was opened by Sylvester Marsh to carry passengers to the summit of Mount Washington in New Hampshire at the height of 6293 ft. with a maximum grade of 32.26 percent with the aid of a wrought iron ladder type rack. The most powerful single unit diesel-electric locomotive in the world was built by General Motors EMD for the Union Pacific Railroad in 1969 know as the " Centennial class and was rated at 6600hp.
