Installation and Upgrading

Update Procedure

The Full Installer is needed only once during the first installation.  After that the latest update file should be installed. Each update includes all changes from the latest Full installer.
Note: In general, you may install after the Full installer install earlier or later version updates on top of one another.

The Full Installer is named: N1MM-FullInstaller.exe. The update files will be named: N1MM-newexeV7.3.1.exe (as an example). Updates will be numbered [Version].[Month].[Number]. The version released in May 2007 will be version N1MM-newexeV7.3.0. If any fixes are required they will be released when ready, and numbered 7.3.1, 7.3.2, etc.

Downloading the software

Internet access

During installation it is possible that a connection to the Internet is requested to download the Help, Manual or the DLPORTIO port driver. A firewall may prevent this action or pop up and ask your permission. If no permission is given these files can not be downloaded.

Boot during install

During install it is possible that the PC has to be booted (restarted) to install some new system files. If possible cancel this message and wait until the installer is done and reboot afterwards.

Errors

If an error occurs during installation or when starting the program please reboot the PC and see if the error is still disappears. On some  Windows systems system files need to be added/updated and need a reboot. If the error(s) persist please report on the N1MM logger discussion group.

Subsequent Install Instructions / Upgrading to a new program version

An e-mail will be send out periodically to announce new versions (updates) of the program to the group members.

Upgrading the Help file and Manual

The Windows Help file and Manual are maintained separately from the program and follow it as close as possible. So when checking for a new program version also check if a new version of the Help/Manual is present.
An e-mail will be send out periodically to announce new versions of the Help and Manual to the group members.

Bug lists and Feature requests

Feature requests and bug reports can be found on the N1MM web site (www.n1mm.com). You can check them either from the Download Latest Update or Support pull-down menus. There are 5 lists:
It is possible that listed items have already been resolved, but the requests and reports not have been moved to the right list. For that reason I really need your help --- please look for any reports or requests you have filed that are on the wrong list.
