The Walden Family has a rich history of faith, food, and family. Originally from Conyers, Georgia, Tony and Patty moved to Doerun, Georgia in 1977. Tony’s parents and sister owned a restaurant in that area for over 36 years, which brought lots of memories and unforgettable relationships. In 1992, Tony, Patty, and their two daughters, Amanda and Melissa, moved back to the Covington area. Tony has been in the construction business since age 15. Through the years, his love for building has been matched with his love for cooking and serving others with his family’s favorite foods.
Two years ago, Tony started a donation-only food and fellowship in his backyard with friends and family. Over time through word of mouth, this gathering exploded and they began feeding between 400 and 450 people every other Friday night. The gathering outgrew the space. They are so happy to be moving from their backyard to Washington Street in Covington, Georgia. They want the public to know that they are committed to doing their best to love those placed in our path, putting forth quality food, and having fun while they do it. It is most important for them to stay grounded in the fact that their foundation is built on faith in Jesus Christ. Their mission, therefore, is to serve Him faithfully through this business, hand-in-hand with family and friends.
The Walden family would like to dedicate their new venture to the late Kathleen Walden (Tony’s mom) and the late Elaine Helms (Patty’s mom) for all they contributed to their lives: a love to serve others, a love to cook, and the ability to prepare real comfort food. This is a new journey for their family and they would like to thank everyone for partnering with them through their support. A special thank you is extended to Jason Maddox for all he has contributed to make this restaurant happen. Above all, the Walden family acknowledges God as the source and means for making this exciting new phase in their life become a reality.
