The special will follow couples on romantic getaways to the eight locations chosen for the special. You’ll see Covington locals, Keith and Terri Campbell, celebrate a special anniversary with a stay at The Twelve Oaks. The film crew also captured them on a walk around town and having dinner at a local restaurant, The Mystic Grill. GPB remarked about The Twelve Oaks, saying, “Considered by many to be one of the most outstanding examples of Antebellum Architecture in the South, Twelve Oaks was built in 1836. It was bought out of foreclosure and has been renovated in a way that preserves its historic character. From the art to the woodwork, every detail is designed to replicate the home as it was in its glory days.”
The Twelve Oaks has an excellent track record for distinguishing accommodations since it opened in 2012 and was recently chosen in 2015 as one of the Top 10 Inns in the US by Bedandbreakfast.com. It was hand selected by the editors of Southern Living for The Southern Living Hotel Collection and is also a member of Select Registry. The Twelve Oaks hosts weddings and events and has won Best of the Knot and The Weddingwire Couples Choice Award. The Twelve Oaks plans to open up for IPad tours of the house and grounds later this year.
At The Twelve Oaks Bed & Breakfast, couples will experience some of the most luxurious accommodations they could ever dream of. Each room is unique and all have working fireplaces to keep you cozy and in-suite baths with unique features like two-person rain showers, soaking tubs, and there is even a spa tub that boasts air jets, aromatherapy and chromo-therapy, in addition to a handheld spray. Get comfy in the plush Turkish robes and fabulous plush beds complete with Egyptian cotton sheets. A stay at the Twelve Oaks ranges from $175-$399 and includes a home-cooked breakfast daily such as Strawberry Shortcake pancakes with bourbon whipped cream (shown to the left) served with Applewood bacon and scrambled eggs with Harvarti. Also included with your stay is the Southern Sippin’ and Nibblin’ hour in the afternoon and turn down service in the evening with chocolate truffles. Parking and WIFI are included as well.
