The 36th Annual Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival will be held on March 25-26, 2023 at the Georgia International Horse Park. The City of Conyers presents the Cherry Blossom Festival annually where attendees can experience international music, dance, games, food, and crafts.
This year wear the cherry blossom colors of pink and green during the festival for a chance to win a prize. You can get “pinked” by judges for wearing the best outfits, decorated strollers, and wagons. Judges will be roaming the festival plaza throughout the event. Another way to win a fun festival prize is during a Scavenger hunt, where you can search for pink kimonos hidden among the arts and craft booths.
There is much to see and do at the festival, such as experiencing Japanese and other cultures with live, multi-stage performances. Scheduled shows include dancing, music, martial arts, and self-defense demonstrations. Shop at hundreds of arts and craft booths. Vendors will be selling items such as jewelry, toys, clothing, accessories, furniture, yard art, bath products, pet supplies, and much more. There is also a large, newly redesigned interactive children’s area filled with moonwalks, rock walls, obstacle courses, and other activities. And satisfy your taste buds with international treats and favorite festival fares from the food courts.
For many years, the festival has won Best Event in the Southeast by the Southeast Festival and Events Association and has been selected as a Top 20 Event in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society. The Cherry Blossom Festival is a long-time tradition since 1982 when Maxell Corporation of America and the local Chamber of Commerce started the first event. Named for the beautiful, pink Cherry Blossom trees that bloom this time of year, the event initially shared Japanese culture and provided the opportunity for attendees to learn about gardening and the landscape.
Today, Conyers celebrates the cherry blossom season throughout the month. Various events are hosted by organizations that include the “Acts of Kindness through Photography” themed CRCA & RCS Student Photography Contest at the Corner Market on March 18th and the Conyers Kiwanis Club Cherry Blossom Golf Tournament at the Cherokee Run Golf Course on March 31st.
The Cherry Blossom Festival is open from 10am-5pm on Saturday, March 25th and Sunday, March 26th. Admission is free although there is a $5.00 parking fee for one day or $8.00 parking fee for both days.
