Taylor Hicks, a senior at Rockdale County Public Schools (Conyers, Ga.) and Salem High School (SHS), was named the winner of the Rotary Club of Rockdale County’s Four-Way Test essay contest. Students were asked to submit essays on the guiding principles of the Rotary Club, called the Four Way Test, which asks “Of the things we think, say or do: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?” Hicks, who will attend University of West Georgia in the fall, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship at the May 3 meeting of the Rockdale Rotary Club.
About The Author
eMetro Times
We got tired of reading about DUIs and violent crimes in our local papers and decided to spread good and positive news in the East Metro Atlanta area. There’s some great things happening in our communities and it’s time someone shared the love. Previously the Olde Town Times, we’re still the same “Good News” paper! We changed the name to better reflect the areas we service – DeKalb, Rockdale, Newton, Walton, Morgan, and Greene counties
