Ok, let’s consider the schedule for a moment. You probably have a work schedule, a sleep schedule, an eating schedule and a few others. If you have children you are DEFINITELY familiar with scheduling! It has some significant benefits. You are setting aside time for the actions needed in your day. There is a form of mental clarity that comes from knowing how the day should unfold. When items are added to the to-do list and need to be accounted for, they get added to your daily schedule.
Exercise can assist your life and improve your other daily activities but somehow seems to get left off the schedule by most people. Do you have an exercise schedule? Do you set aside time for your self- improvement? Are you planning the day with an opportunity to release, renew and revive?
Regular exercise can help you with weight control, building muscle tone, enhancing your mood, better energy, better sleep, better sex and many other health benefiting factors. Are you cheating yourself out of these highly sought after life enhancements? This can be easily solved.
- Start today. Set aside some time to exercise. This can be 10 minutes or more. You can walk, stretch, resistance train, weight train, join a gym/club, play a game and the list goes on. Do what makes you happy.
- Make a plan. Put it on the schedule. Just because it is 10 minutes or 30 minutes (or more) doesn’t mean you can “do it when you have time”. You need to schedule it in your day. Maybe it’s either at 6am or 9pm but you have an idea for where it fits in your life and when that time comes your plan is in place.
- yourself for the effort! This is a work in progress. It may take some effort for you to figure out where your exercise routine gets added to your day. You may miss it; life happens. Get back to it the next day, don’t beat yourself up and reward yourself as you get into a rhythm. A smoothie, new training gear, more time, workout videos or whatever supports your goal.
Go ahead and do this now! Grab a pen or your phone or wherever you have your schedule, calendar, alerts….make a place for yourself. Everyone and everything in your life will benefit from your enhanced self. You deserve time to reset, time to improve your health, time to create a better you.
