Conyers, GA – The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) recently awarded Rockdale 23, the County’s government-access channel, with as its Hermes Creative Gold Award for the concept, writing and design of the County’s Try the Trails video.
The award honors the outstanding work of creative professionals whose submissions serve as a benchmark for the industry. The Board of Commissioners recognized the Community Affairs & Innovative Programs (CAIP) department staff for the award at its June 16 meeting.
This year, AMCP selected 15 percent of the total 2015 entries for the Platinum Award – the organization’s top honor – and 22 percent received the Gold Award.
“This recognition exemplifies the innovative marketing style needed to move our County forward,” CEO and Chairman Richard Oden said. “To be honored among advertising and public relations firms, government agencies and communications companies at this level is worth celebrating. I commend Rockdale 23 and the Community Affairs department for their commitment to produce and share stories like these with our citizens.”
Rockdale 23 is among award recipients from 195 categories grouped under advertising, publications, marketing/branding, integrated marketing, public relations/communications, and electronic media and pro bono. The award-winning video spotlights the peaceful scenery of the Rockdale River Trail system’s more than 10 miles of trails and encourages citizens to get out and try them..
“This is a great honor not only for my department, but the County as a whole,” Tonya Parker, CAIP department director said. “Everyone here should be proud. I’ve always been confident that my team is capable of this level of work, and Sean Kimbell, our Audio/Visual Production Coordinator, definitely proved me right.
“It’s so clear he put his heart into this project because the video is not only inviting and educational, but visually stunning.”
More than 6,000 creative professionals and organizations throughout the United States and 22 countries submitted entries in the Hermes Awards 2015 competition.
Entries came from corporate marketing and communications departments, government agencies, advertising and public relations firms and media production and freelance professionals. Entries are judged at random and not directly compared to other entries in their category. Work is judged on creativity.
Judges are senior-level experienced professionals who reside in the Dallas or Washington, D.C. areas, and are freelancers or own their own businesses. Selection of judges is based on availability and expertise in identifying individuals and companies whose work exceeds a high standard of excellence in one of the 195 award categories.
