April for me signifies so many things–itchy watery eyes, sniffly noses, and hay fever. Allergies aside, the beauty of spring cannot be denied in the south. With cherry blossom trees blooming their pink and white flowers, spring is breathtaking, and not just because you need an inhaler when you step outside your door. Springtime in East Metro Atlanta is filled with fun, outdoor events for our families.
It’s a time of year when we all rejoice, bring out the flip flops, and put away our “winter feet”. It’s the time of year to take a walk instead of drive because the weather i just too darn nice and let’s face it…that winter flab can’t be hidden behind the cute sundress you want to wear. So, if you skipped the January rush to the gym, the time is now, ladies and gents (at least the lines won’t be too long!)
Spring is a time of rebirth and resurrection. Regardless of religion and whether or not you celebrate Easter or Passover, celebrate yourself and mother nature. Be one with the beautiful cherry blossoms. Find the new you. Become the beautiful butterfly you. Strip those layers of winter bark and dead leaves and renew yourself. It’s time to open your windows and doors, and let the fresh air in before the pollen ‘snow’ starts kicking in. Just sayin’.
