Dr. Charles Garner of Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology (RMSST) in Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) was recently named a recipient of the 2016 Yale Educator Award. The award honors outstanding educators who support and inspire their students to perform at high levels and to achieve excellence. Students entering the Yale Class of 2020 were asked to nominate outstanding educators who have deeply impacted their lives. Dr. Garner was nominated for the award by Matthew Le, RMSST Class of 2016. Of this year’s 326 nominees, 83 were selected to receive the award. Dr. Garner was also recently recognized by the Georgia Association of Advanced Placement Mathematics Teachers with the 2016 John Neff Award for Excellence in AP Mathematics Instruction for his service to the AP math community and years of teaching.
