Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) recognized educators who lead the way in using technology to unlock learning potential at the Outstanding Technology Teachers (OTTs) of the Year ceremony on April 27, 2016. One teacher in each school was honored for being an exceptional classroom teacher who utilizes technology in teaching and implements innovative lessons that promote creativity, collaboration, student achievement and higher level thinking.
The 2015-16 OTTs are: Shawnte’ Whigham (Alpha Academy), Tammy Trail (Barksdale Elementary School), Olan Kidd (C.J. Hicks Elementary), Stephen Williams (Conyers Middle School), Thomas Schie (Edwards Middle School), Ashley Underwood (Flat Shoals Elementary), Melanie Hooley (Heritage High School), LaDonna Denmark (Hightower Trail Elementary), Joshua Prentice (Honey Creek Elementary), Tiffany Moore (J.H. House Elementary), Mackenze Hull (Lorraine Elementary), Fabian Bowaman (Memorial Middle School), Robin Anderson (Peek’s Chapel Elementary), Genifer Keener (Pine Street Elementary), Trenetta Wilcox (Program Challenge), Angie Cawley (Davis Middle School), Jesse Smith (Rockdale Career Academy), Imani Bailey (Rockdale County High School), Andrea Allen (Rockdale Magnet School for Science & Technology), Carol Brand (Open Campus), Lee Ann Patterson (Salem High School), Candice Hill (Salem Creek Elementary), Patrice Chambers (Sims Elementary School).
