Piedmont Healthcare announced today that it has finalized a contract extension with Kaiser Permanente, which will ensure continued in-network access to all Piedmont Healthcare facilities through 2023.
The extension is part of longer-term plans for Piedmont and Kaiser Permanente to deepen their long-standing partnership.
“We have had a close relationship with Kaiser Permanente for nearly 20 years, and are looking forward to furthering that relationship through this important extension,” said Kevin Brown, president and chief executive officer at Piedmont Healthcare. “This extended partnership is yet another example of the collaborative relationships we’ve been building with our health plan and insurance partners for years, all in an effort to ensure that our patients and our communities have access to high-quality healthcare.”
Contract extensions and negotiations are a common part of the relationship between providers and health plans and, when managed collaboratively, safeguard coverage for members and ensure access to healthcare facilities and physicians. For many years, Piedmont has successfully built mutually beneficial partnerships to fulfill its mission of improving health across the community.
“Piedmont has been an important, valued partner to Kaiser Permanente for many years, and enables us to provide our members with the high-quality care they need and deserve,” said Mary L. Wilson, M.D., executive medical director of Kaiser Permanente. “We look forward to deepening our relationship and continuing care for our members in the greater Atlanta area.”
The contract extension includes all Piedmont Healthcare facilities.
