The application process for Phoenix Pass is now open as of Thursday, June 25th, 2015. Phoenix Pass provides transitional housing to single mothers and their children experiencing homelessness. Phoenix Pass expects to receive a large number of applications. However, only two families will be selected. Applications may be picked up at 541 Sigman Rd NW Conyers 30012 anytime between today and July 9th. Applications are located in clearly labeled stands in front of the first office building and the lighthouse building on campus. Completed applications are accepted ONLY on Thursday, July 9th between 7am-7pm at the same location. If you are making a referral, please note the following information:
-Only single mothers with custody of their children need apply. Applicants may only have ONE head-of-household.
-This is a PROGRAM. Residents live rent-free for up to two years. After the first three months, they contribute a $50 utility reimbursement back to Phoenix Pass each month. They are required to work and save at least 30% of their income, attend classes on the first and third Tuesday every month from 6:30-8:00 pm without exception, and attend weekly coaching meetings to review finances and set goals.
-Candidates will be selected for interviews based on their applications. You will receive a phone call after all applications have been reviewed. This is NOT a first come, first serve basis.
-If you are selected for an interview, drug screenings will be conducted. Also note that the program conducts random drug screenings.
-The apartments have two bedrooms. We cannot accommodate families larger than five members at this time.
-You must submit a BACKGROUND check if you are selected for an interview. However, you may also turn it in early with your application. Background checks are typically $10.
