The Newton County Sheriff’s Office is hosting its first ever job fair on Thursday, May 26th and Friday, May 27th from 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. at the law enforcement facility located at 15151 Alcovy Road in Covington, Ga.
Detention Officer and Deputy Sheriff positions are available. Recruiting personnel will be conducting application screening and interviews on-site, therefore, please attend the job fair in business attire.

Download and print the SHERIFF’S OFFICE APPLICATION. The application must be filled out in its entirety and brought to the job fair in order to initiate the hiring process. Please make sure to read and follow application instructions completely. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. A notary will be on site both days to assist with documents that need to be notarized.

Minimum requirements include but are not limited to:
- High School Diploma or GED
- GA POST Peace Officers Certification or the ability to obtain within six months of employment
- Valid driver’s license
- Bilingual skills preferred
