Book Bus Donation from ChamberNewton County School System (NCSS) Superintendent Samantha Fuhrey and 2024 NCSS Teacher of the Year Jason Smith were the featured speakers at the Chamber of Commerce’s February Lunch Link. They spoke about the many great things taking place in our school system, including the NCSS Book Bus.

In lieu of the normal ticket price for the lunch, the Chamber asked attendees to bring a new book to help stock the Book Bus. Overall, approximately 80 books were donated and attendees also donated money to purchase even more books.

By the end of the meeting, Newton County Chamber of Commerce President Ralph Staffins presented Superintendent Fuhrey, Mr. Smith, and school board member Trey Bailey with a check for $280 to help purchase more books for the NCSS Book Bus! Thank you so much, Newton County Chamber of Commerce members for supporting the NCSS Book Bus and the children in our community!
