A ten-group, 30-member committee was hand selected to serve with Chairman-Elect Oz Nesbitt’s transition team. Each team, led by a coordinator was charged to get an in-depth perspective of each county department, conduct critical analysis, and highlight barriers that could oppose the forward progression of Rockdale County. The teams strategically interviewed members of each county department with a clear goal to determine ways to strengthen each area.
“The teams and coordinators worked extremely hard and took time out of their personal schedules to conduct these interviews, structure their data, and develop layouts for presentation to the chairman-elect,” said Corey K. Hambrick, transition team chief.
The teams met and analyzed their interview findings and developed progressive recommendations for each of their assigned areas. On December 13, the transition team met to present their findings and it was with great acceptance that Chairman-Elect Nesbitt received the findings for which he plans to share with both the Post 1 and Post 2 commissioners.
“An incredible display of professional talent and skill,” said Nesbitt. “The 2016 Transition Readiness Team (TRT) represented a broad spectrum of our community including all demographics. Their work confirmed the actual size of the mountain we must climb and depth of how deep we must dig in order to stabilize the foundation of our local county government, from the inside-out. Communications, human resources, and overall employee morale were the top three concerns across all county departments. The professional summary of the TRT increases the sense of urgency to deploy and delegate effective leadership strategies immediately. I want to personally thank each member of our TRT publicly for their time, talent, and resources in assisting with moving Rockdale County forward. The strong communication and organizational skills of Sgt. Corey Hambrick set the tone for a cohesive team of collaboration and effective partnerships to focus on one accord.”
