The year 2014 may be winding for some folk, but certainly not for the members of ABWA’s New-Roc Charter Chapter. This group of diligent entrepreneurs is busy at the task of keeping the tempo upbeat; and here’s how this is being done.

Some New Trends at New-Roc

A number of new and interesting ideas are becoming realities during the Chapter’s New Year, August 2014 – July, 2015. For instance, there is now a great Member Focus section on the Chapter’s website. Here, on a rotating basis, individual members and their businesses are showcased to visitors of our website. This focus is also being applied in newsletters and at monthly meetings.

Another feature is the members-only New Member Orientation sessions. This serves to  acquaint members with the way ABWA operates, what it means to be a New-Roc Chapter member, and the many benefits derived from such membership.

Then there is the Quarterly Social Event. This will give members the opportunity to get together in a getting-to-know-you atmosphere. In this vein comes the latest planned activity: A Member Bus Trip to Alabama on December 13, when members will visit the Unclaimed Baggage Center there for a day of bargain shopping?   This is indeed a unique opportunity for members to find many items at fantastic prices.

New Venue for Monthly Meetings

Our new meeting place is Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q at 2275 Georgia 20, Conyers GA 30013, where members meet at 11:30 a.m. on the fourth Wednesday of every month—except in November when the meeting is on the third Wednesday in honor of Thanksgiving, and again in December, when members do not meet at all as they give their energies to the Christmas or Holiday season of that month.

The highlight of our monthly meetings continues to be the chosen speakers.  Speakers continue to bring interesting business-based topics to the membership and important entrepreneurial ideas aimed at creating or maintaining successful businesses.  And all this is delivered in an atmosphere of great camaraderie, delicious food, and real expectations for career enhancement.So take the plunge.
