DIY Mount
| Radden Home Theater |
The mount cost a whopping $20.00 to build opposed to buying a $100.00+ mount. All the parts where purchased from Home Depot except for the M6 bolts, those came from a hardware store.
1) Two 1" flanges(one to mount to the joist and one to mount to the board the Z2
connects to).
2) One 1" threaded straight pipe.
3) One 1" ' T '(so I could run the wires down the pipe).
4) One 1" connector threaded on both ends(so I could connect the ' T ' to the joist
flange).
5) A piece of 3/4" MDF. I cut the board in such an odd shape because the Z2 is
mounted so close to the board(to get it as close to the ceiling as possibe)that the board
would have been right above the filter with no room to remove it without taking down the
Z2. Now I can remove the filter without taking down the Z2.
6) Three 3" M6 nuts and bolts(to mount the Z2 to the board).
7) I also used nuts and bolts to mount the flanges to the joist and the board, but I don't
remember the size. Just get what works.
8) A can of Ultra Flat Black spray paint.
Also if your mounting to the ceiling instead of the side of the joist like I did, you
could eliminate the "T" and connect the top flange right to the straight pipe.
