Rockdale County government congratulates Keep Conyers-Rockdale Beautiful (KCRB) for receiving a national and a state award for its unwavering efforts in making the community cleaner, greener and more thriving.

For the fourth year, Keep America Beautiful (KAB) awarded to KCRB its President’s Circle Award. KAB President and CEO Jennifer Jehn presented the award to qualifying affiliates during the recent National Conference in Orlando, Florida.

Locally, Gov. Nathan Deal and the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation (KGBF) presented to local KAB affiliates for the third year, including KCRB, its Governor’s Circle Award.

The President’s Circle Award recognizes exemplary performance certified affiliates of the national nonprofit make in creating clean, green and beautiful communities. In qualifying for a President’s Circle Award, KCRB met KAB’s standards of merit by conducting an annual Community Appearance Index, calculating the affiliate’s cost/benefit ratio and administering activities in the areas of litter prevention, recycling and waste reduction and beautification and community greening.

“We are honored to be recognized again this year for our work in Conyers and Rockdale,” KCRB Chair Tisa Smart-Washington said. “Our volunteers and county staff work hard throughout the year to recruit volunteers and spread the word about the importance of keeping Conyers and Rockdale beautiful.”

Each year, KCRB continues to enhance the health, safety and economic viability of Conyers and Rockdale County by empowering hundreds of local volunteers to take greater responsibility for litter prevention and cleanup, recycling, waste minimization and all forms of beautification and community improvement.
