Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC) is holding its 16th Annual Run Walk ‘n Roll at Stone Mountain Park on Saturday, April 30th. Proceeds will benefit the organization’s mission to provide home medical equipment (HME) and other support and services to the mobility-impaired.
FODAC’s Run Walk ‘n Roll is a five mile race (two mile walk) routing through Stone Mountain Park. The family-friendly event is one of FODAC’s main fundraisers. Participants can run, walk or roll through the course; wheelchairs, strollers and walkers are all welcome. The morning includes a continental breakfast, music, door prizes, clowns, and more!
Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in the run.
Registration costs are $50 (adults), $25 (children 5-18, must be purchased with adult registration), and children under 5 are free. Teams of 4 can be registered for $160. All registrations include a t-shirt and a Stone Mountain Park Adventure Pass (valued at $29.95).
Immediately following the 2-mile walk/roll is the annual raffle; tickets are 3 for $10 and can be purchased onsite (cash only).

About FODAC
Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC) helps people with injuries and disabilities of all ages regain their mobility, independence and quality of life. The non-profit organization provides more than $10 million annually in refurbished home medical equipment (HME) and home modifications in Georgia and across the United States, all at little or no cost to the recipients. A pioneer in re-use, FODAC keeps 250 tons of materials out of landfills each year by refurbishing and reissuing over 400 HME items every month, and is recognized nationally for best practices. In 2014, FODAC was named to Charities Under 5% Overhead, an organization of charities that have operating overhead of five percent or less.
In 2013, Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) appointed FODAC to serve as the statewide distributor of HME and assistive technology in the event of a large population-affecting emergency situation. In this role, FODAC will warehouse the HME and other equipment, then, working with GEMA and the American Red Cross (ARC) of Georgia, will coordinate the delivery and distribution to emergency shelters around the state.
