Athens FrontDor – The Community Bulletin Board Reinvented
Local startup, FrontDor, aims to create the first “social display network” in Athens, GA. The founders, Timothy Cook and John Hiner, are both from Conyers. They graduated together from Heritage High School in 2008 and after earning degrees from Georgia Tech and University of Georgia, they have teamed up to create FrontDor. This entrepreneurial duo is reinventing the community bulletin board by making it digital and social. With Instagram feeds, simple slideshows and text message integration, their FrontDor device makes it possible to turn any TV into a social bulletin board.
Athens FrontDor will be the first Community Network by FrontDor. The purpose of the network is to showcase the community and keep locals in-the-loop on the places to go and things to do nearby. The more host locations that join the network, the more valuable the network becomes for everyone. In order to launch with a minimum of 15 locations, they’re inviting community members and business owners to support their 45-day KickStarter campaign, starting September 7, 2016.
Any local business in Athens can become a host. As a local business owner, hosting a FrontDor display can generate free marketing and grow your brand presence in Athens. There are no monthly fees and no commitments. Being a host is easy, simply plug a FrontDor device into your TV, connect it to the internet and let the FrontDor team do the rest.
As a local, the FrontDor displays will provide you with a quick glance of what’s happening around town. You can also stay in the loop via the @AthensFrontDor Instagram or by text message from your phone. Try it for yourself. Follow @AthensFrontDor on Instagram or text “AthensEats” to 31996.
