Hot Rods will line the streets of the Covington Square once again, all in an effort to help Newton County children in need this Christmas.
The Covington Rotary Club will host its 22nd Cars of the Past car show Sunday, Oct. 5 from 8 a.m.-4 pm.
Last year’s event featured 300 antique, classic, muscle and street rod cars, and welcomed more than 3,000 people.
In addition to the four-wheel vehicles, custom motorcycles and golf carts will also be displayed.
Vendors will also line the streets around Covington’s newly renovated Square Park, selling a variety of items.
Raffles and drawings will also be available as spectators enjoy seeing historic cars in a historic setting.
For those looking to enjoy seeing the antiques, admission is free.
For those want5ing to show off their cars, registration is $20 prior to Oct. 5 and $25 the day of the show. Registration is open from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
Proceeds from vehicle owners and sponsors go to the Covington Rotary Club, which sponsors many civic projects throughout Newton County. The club’s biggest event is the annual Empty Stocking Fund at Christmas, which provides gifts to more than 500 needy children in the Newton County community.
