Attorney Caycie Dix, a native of Rockdale County for over 20 years, has officially announced her candidacy for Rockdale County Probate Court Judge.
Although Probate court has jurisdiction over other ancillary matters such as the issuance of gun licenses, marriage licenses, and guardianship/conservatorships, its primary purpose is to oversee and maintain the integrity in the administration and distribution of assets in an estate. As such, it is vitally important that the Judge, a constitutional officer and overseer of this process, is one who also exhibits integrity, has expertise in the area of probate law, and has the ability to interpret and execute Georgia’s probate laws.
The integrity of this process, of the Court, and of the overseer has been questioned and challenged over the past two years in our county. As the next Probate Judge, I will restore the integrity of this court. I will also provide a variety of tools and resources to assist our citizens in navigating through the complex process of probating an estate. I have the character, the knowledge, and the experience to become the next Probate Court Judge. It is my desire and vision that this court will become one that is readily accessible to our citizens and that has a commitment to educating them about probating estates – a process that we will each encounter at one point or another in life.
