Commissioner Oz Nesbitt Distributes Hams for Easter

Rockdale County Commissioner Oz Nesbitt held his annual Lend-A-Ham drive to help area senior citizens enjoy a great Easter meal.  Hundreds of free hams brought happy faces and smiles of gratitude.

“Giving hams to seniors at this annual event shows love and support to Rockdale senior citizens,” said Nesbitt. “We want to do everything possible to help the older members of the community as they try to manage on a fixed income.”

Every senior citizen who came to the Olivia Haydel Senior Center on Palm Sunday, March 20 received a ham.  Nesbitt had so many hams, he and his team went door-to-door in public housing communities giving away several dozen more.
