Calling all Rockdale and Newton County students’ grades 6th-12th! Come celebrate the kick-off of the 4-H year by attending the “Back to 4-H” party. This free event will have games, food, a DJ, and so much more.
What is 4-H you ask? They are one of the largest youth organizations in the world. Georgia 4-H is a part of the University of Georgia’s College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. They help youth develop skills such as public speaking in a fun and constructive environment. They offer a variety of opportunities for the youth in our community to enhance skills such as leadership, public speaking, and team building. They also offer exploration of careers, colleges, work choices and much more.
4-H is a free program for youth in kindergarten through 12th grade. Monthly meetings are held that focus on community service and age appropriate curriculum.
In addition to monthly meetings, 4-H hosts activities such as special project clubs (horse club, shooting sports, etc.), judging teams, summer camps, and field trips.
The “Back to 4-H” party is your chance to meet their staff, veteran 4-H’ers, new friends, and to learn what they are all about. They hope to see you on August 5th from 6-8 pm.
The event will be held at the Rockdale County Extension Office located at 1400 Parker Rd SE, Conyers, GA 30094. Please RSVP by calling the office at 770-278-7373 or visiting in person no later than July 29th.
