Free Cookout and Water Fun at Milstead Splash Pad
Splash into summer this Memorial Day weekend as Rockdale County Chairman Oz Nesbitt, Sr. opens the Milstead Park splash pad on May 27. Come celebrate the end of school and enjoy a fun day in the park from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. with food, games, and a watermelon eating contest.
The county installed the water feature at the Milstead location, 1665 Main Street NE, in 2015 and park goers have delighted in beating the heat with this summer season attraction.
“The splash pad always draws a crowd during warm-weather months,” said Recreation and Maintenance Director Sue Sanders. “It’s a great place to take the kids to cool off on hot days.”
The Splash Pad will be open from 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. daily until Labor Day.
Milstead Park also has an outdoor exercise station, a small pavilion, and a walking track that are available year-round.
