Burge Organic Farm Offers CSA Shares

Burge OrganicNow is the time to sign up to be a part of the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) organized by Burge Organic Farm.

When the consumer purchases a share in the CSA they are essentially investing in the farm at the beginning of the season and in return they receive a box of fresh food every week!

Additionally, they are supporting local agriculture and receiving the benefits of fresh, organic food.

Burge Organic Farm has two CSA’s each year. Our spring CSA runs 14 weeks from April 22 to July 22, 2015 and includes strawberries, asparagus, beets, spinach, tomatoes, peppers, and okra, just to name a few! The fall CSA is also offered for 14 weeks and will run from late August to late November. We offer a full share which includes a box of 8-10 items of our seasonal produce, which is harvested on the farm just the day before! Full shares receive a box for all 14 weeks of the CSA while the half share receives the same delicious box of goodies but for only 7 of the 14 weeks. Everything is harvested, cleaned, and boxed on Tuesday and delivered on Wednesday to our different pickup locations. These locations include St. Philips Cathedral and Westminster School in Atlanta, The YMCA and Alcovy Fitness in Covington, and our farm in Mansfield! You can learn more or sign up at www.burgeorganicfarm.com.

We provide healthy, local, organic produce that is grown with healthy soil and hands. Since our vegetables don’t travel thousands of miles on a truck before reaching their destination, they are allowed to fully develop and ripen before harvest. This means that they contain all of the nutrients they were intended to have! Plus, they weren’t sprayed with harmful pesticides and you can taste the difference!

There are many ways to get involved in the local food movement. Whether you are a CSA member, a regular shopper at one of the many Atlanta markets, or a volunteer, these are all ways you can make a difference in the effort to restore our food system. Come see us year round at the Morningside Market in the Highlands or the Peachtree Road Farmers Market starting in April in Buckhead.
