The local Bunco team, known as the “Bunco Babes”, are hosting a fundraiser for Family Promise of NewRock. Bunkin’ for Bunks will take place on Saturday, September 17th at 6 p.m. at the Corner Market in Conyers.
The Bunco Babes are an energetic group of women from Rockdale, Newton and Henry counties who came together just over ten years ago to play Bunco. While Bunco is a simple dice game they play once a month, the group has formed a bond of friendship that goes beyond the game of Bunco. They have a sense of caring, companionship, friendship and support for their community. Most are long-time residents who’ve raised their families here as well. They have deep roots and giant open hearts.
These ladies have done some amazing things over the ten years that they’ve been together. Some of those include coordinating “blessing bags” to distribute to the homeless, collecting and donating canned food items for our local food banks, supporting a local Scout Troop with Camp Card sales and popcorn sales, supporting a Susan G. Komen 3 Day walking team with donations, making meals for cancer patients, and most recently coordinating and making over 100 sack lunches for the summer lunch program in Rockdale.
So, it’s not just a game these Bunco Babes play…they make a difference in our community. Let the good times ROLL!
Come and roll the dice with the local Bunco Babes at Bunkin’ for Bunks on Saturday, September 17th starting at 6 p.m. The event will be held at the Corner Market located at 1815 Parker Road SE, Conyers, GA.
