To help make the RCSO look a lot like Christmas, Sheriff Levett asked students to help bring holiday cheer to the RCSO by making homemade decorations. The students made all types of handmade ornaments to be displayed throughout the RCSO. On December 1, 2014, the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office had a special visit by local students from Hightower Trail Elementary School. A total of 37 students assisted Sheriff Eric J. Levett with their handmade decorations to make the RCSO Christmas tree festive for the holidays. In addition to helping decorate, the students also received a tour of the main headquarters building by Sheriff Levett.
Earlier in November, Sheriff Levett asked all 11 Rockdale County Public elementary schools if the students would help bring holiday cheer to the RCSO by making handmade decorations. All of the handmade decorations were placed throughout the Sheriff’s Office for not only the public to see, but all RCSO employees.
“I really wanted to do something different this year in decorating the RCSO for the holidays,” said Sheriff Eric J. Levett. “The Sheriff’s Office belongs to the community and I thought it would be very special to have decorations on display from the youth of Rockdale County in our buildings. We received an overwhelming response of decorations from all of the schools and we are truly grateful. The students did an excellent job of bringing holiday cheer to the RCSO.”
